HOW TO: Natural Everyday Eye Shadow

Today we are taking you through a step by step tutorial of how to create a natural everyday eye shadow look that’s universally flattering and works for any occasion. This classic look is a good starting point if you’re new to wearing eye shadow. Once you master this, you’ll be ready to try something more advanced!

All you will need for this look is an eye primer, a neutral palette, eyeliner and a few brushes!

Step 1:

Apply a primer all over the lids taking the time to blend this well. If this step is not applied evenly your eye shadow can look patchy and not blend perfectly. Eye primer is key helping your shadow last all day and prevents creasing!

Step 2:

Apply a light eye shadow all over the lid and up to the brow bone using a medium sized fluffy eye shadow brush. This step brightens and creates a smooth base that will help darker shades blend more seamlessly. We are using the Glo Skin Beauty Elemental Eye Shadow Palette.

Step 3.

For precise placement use a smaller eye shadow brush and sweep a medium shade through the crease. If you are not 100% sure where your crease is, just look down and (gently) poke your brush into the space between your eyeball and brow bone and you’ve found it! Start on the outside of the eye where the lashes end and blend inwards.

Step 4:

Using the darkest shade to create a “V” shape on the outer corner of the eye using the same brush as in step 3. Take care not to stray too far beyond your lash line. Take the brush you used in step 2 to help blend and soften any harsh edges.

Step 5:

Apply pencil liner along the top lash line. A helpful tip, when applying, is to hold the liner on it’s side and lightly drag it from the middle to the end of the eye and then inner to middle (keeping this the thinnest part of the line).

Step 6:

Mascara will complete the look! We are loving the VMV Hypoallergenics Ooh La La Lash tubing mascara for smudgeproof lashes that wash off easily at the end of the day.

Thanks for reading our tips on eye shadow basics and we hope you have fun trying this look!
