How to: Monogrammatic New Years Look

Our New Years Eve look is great for anyone interested to bump up their glam without going overboard on the glitter! We are channelling monochromatic, smokey eyes with a touch of shimmer because it is NYE after all.

Keep reading to see how to achieve this simple, yet stunning makeup!

Step 1:

Start by applying Stila’s Shimmer & Glow Liquid Shadow, using the shade Pigalle, to the entire base of the eye. Lightly buff this into the crease, making sure to blend well.

Denise’s Tip: When doing a smokey eye, start with the eyes before you do your base this will avoid any mess from shadow fall-out on the cheeks or under eye area.

Step 2:

Using any dark brown eyeshadow or Stila Soul Palette (shade Character), blend towards the outer corner crease of the eye and softly along the lower lash line. The eyeshadow has a slight shimmer in it, which is a nice added touch.

Step 3:

Next, use the Stila Smudge Pot in black. Start by lining the upper lash line from corner to corner. You can create a slightly thicker line towards to outer area of the eye.

Step 4:

Apply full coats of the Paul & Joe waterproof duo mascara on the top and bottom of the lashes.

Step 5:

Complexion time! Having a foundation that will stay all night will be key for New Years. We love the Stila’s Stay All Day Foundation. Using a dime size amount apply with a beauty blender to achieve a flawless and even coverage.

For a slight highlight, use the Paul & Joe Illuminating pen to the highest points of the face- the cheekbone, brow bone, and cupids bow.

Step 6

Now that we’ve finished with the cream products for the face, use a pressed powder to set the foundation. We love the Paul and Joe #4 pressed powder. Gently pat the product into your skin using a powder brush.

Time for a bit of contour. Use Glo Bronzer, in Sunkiss, and apply by starting along your forehead, down the temples, then under your cheekbones, and blend just below your jawline.

For blush and a bit more highlight, use the Stila Kitten on the apples of your cheeks. It’s a gorgeous shimmery pinky-rose tone.

Step 7

For the lips, I’m keeping it simple to keep the focus on the eyes. First, use the Stila Stay All Day in Angelo. Lastly, add the Sara Happ nude gloss, which is super moisturizing and the perfect nude!

Step 8

For an extra bit of glam especially for New Years, I added our signature mink lashes! This is the “cherry on top” to a glamorous makeup 😉

Final Look

And here you have the monochromatic finished look! I find this to be a great alternative to glitter overload. And the smokey eye still makes for a super glam look.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year and a wonderful start to 2019 😉
