How to cover under eye circles

How to cover under eye circles

This tutorial will teach you how to cover your under eye circles in just 5 easy steps!

I can’t stress enough how important it is to use both corrector and concealer especially if your main concern is to cover the darkness. The corrector will neutralize the darkness and concealer will brighten.

It’s only two steps but makes a HUGE difference especially in the morning when your feeling exhausted and need those raccoon eyes covered!

Step 1: Hydrate with eye cream

Eye cream not only feels amazing, but helps with any puffiness, firms the skin and prevents anti aging. Many people think eye cream is just a myth, but it actually works!

Directions: Apply a dime size amount of light eye cream (for day time) specifically under the eye area and around the eye up to brown bone, similar shape of a backwards “C”. Wait 30 seconds for the cream to absorb, then the corrector/concealer will go on smoothly and will look more hydrated.

Step 2: Corrector

How to pick the right corrector for you?

Tip: If  your complexion is more olive and you tend to have more of a blue/purple under eye colouring you would want to pick a peachy/orange corrector to cancel the colour out. If your complexion is a lighter tone you might have more green/red undertones so you’ll want to choose more of a yellow/pink corrector which  works great.

Directions:

1. Apply from the inner corner of the eye with a synthetic brush bringing the product down towards the middle of your eye which will be at the top point of your cheek, then blend it upwards to the outer corner. The shape you will be doing is similar to a triangle or a “V”.

2. Use your index finger, patting into the skin, the warmth from your hand will blend the product in better.

Step 3: Concealer

The rule of thumb when picking out the right concealer is is finding the right match for your skin tone.  You want the concealer to be one shade lighter than your foundation, this way it will look brighter underneath the eye.

Tip: If you have red/pinkish tone to your skin buy a concealer with a warm undertone. If you find your skin is more olive/yellowish you should look for a concealer with a cool undertone.

Directions:

1. Apply concealer over the corrector from the inner corner of the eye to the outer. This will automatically brighten the under eye area.

Step 4: Powder

The key to using powder under the eyes is to use very little! You want to avoid the under eye from looking dry or cakey (which would mean you’ve applied too much powder).

Directions: Apply powder by lightly pushing into the under eye area. You can push or “pat” with powder brush from the inner corner to the outter edge of your eye.
