Day to Night Makeup
Are you heading out for drinks straight from the office or perhaps going on a hot date ? This easy day to night makeup tutorial will teach you how to go from your classic daytime makeup to an evening glam look in under 10 minutes.
Day:
With day makeup your goal is to use light, fresh colours giving you more of a natural look, with your makeup appearing flawless and dewy. Try to avoid a heavy foundation or anything too drastic. I recommend using a neutral eyeshadow. This way you can build on it later on, giving you lots of room to get creative!
Helpful tip:
Apply primer to your face and your eyes, this will be key to build on later for the evening.
Evening:
Use your morning makeup as your base since you will be heading out straight from work. Trust me, this is way easier than starting from scratch and will help you on you way to a successful evening look!
4 Tips to Nail the Look:
1. Play up the eyes
2. Highlight (Dust highlighter above the cheek bones and under brow bones)
3. Add a neutral or darker lip
4. Contour (Sculpt underneath the cheek bones, around forehead and lightly blend on nose)
Evening Eyes:
Who doesn’t like adding a bit of drama in their eyes for their evening? One way to do this is by creating dramatic, smokey eyes. Darkening the liner using a black pencil or gel is the simplest way to go when you’re in a hurry. Here are 3 easy steps:
Step 1: Tight Line/Liner
Lining the upper inner rim (that’s the root where the lashes are) will create the illusion that your lashes are thicker. Lightly dab the brush from the outer area of the eye to inner. You will notice it will define your eye and make them appear bigger.
Step 2: Eyeshadow
Use a lighter colour in the inner corner of the eye and darker around the crease. Blend the darker colour back and forth to smoothen the look in the outer corner of the eye.
Step 3: Mascara
Load up on mascara and play up the lashes! Don’t be afraid to build a few layers on for evening and remember to apply on the bottom lashes.
