If you want a quick, new look, to change-up your everyday routine for the upcoming holiday parties, this makeup tutorial is for you!
In this holiday tutorial I’ve added a pop of colour to the eyes and lips, perfect for the season 🙂 Oh and I forgot to mention the steps are simple and you will be looking great in less than 10 minutes.
For this look….
I recommend using Cynthia Rowley’s Game Face Eyeshadow Palette (exclusively from Birch Box) for it’s highly pigmented eyeshadows that are easy for blending. They have great staying power as well!
I’ve already added my base:
Foundation: Giorgio Armani, Concealer: Stila and Powder: Laura Mercier
Step 1: Eyeshadow
- Be sure to use a primer beforehand to prevent your eyeshadow from creasing. Using a primer also helps the shadow reveal its true pigmented colour.
- Next, use the teal shimmer eyeshadow colour all over the lid and blend the shadow all the way to the crease. (Adding a pop of colour is a big trend for Fall Makeup 2015)
- Lightly add the lighter grey colour in the inner corner, this will brighten the eye and create more depth.
*Please note – If you want to create a darker smokey eye – use the black shadow and blend in the crease.
Step 2: Eyeliner
- Using a long wear black eyeliner pencil, line the top lash of the eyes with a slight wing at the end.
- Line the bottom water line to add a bit of drama and intensity to the look.
- Next, use a black eyeshadow with a smudge brush blending lightly underneath the bottom lashes. This will give you that smokey look to the eyes.
Step 3: Highlighting
- Using a light colour (champagne/beige) shimmery eyeliner and dot the inner corner of the eye to highlight. You’ll notice right away this draws more attention to the eyes and brightens the face. It finishes off the eye makeup nicely by giving it that elegant and sophisticated look.
Step 4: Lips
- If your like me and don’t feel like touching up your lipstick every hour use a lip stain! It’s hydrating and last for hours 🙂
Step 5: Cheeks
- Lightly dust the blush directly on the apples of the cheeks in an angular motion blending upwards toward the temples. Blush always brightens up your complexion!
- If you have a bronzer, use it to contour around the forehead, down the side of your temples and neck area. This is a easy way of highlighting the cheekbones and finishing the look with a natural glow.
